It is my great privilege to introduce you to Fivemiletown College. It is one of Northern Ireland’s leading all ability schools, with an outstanding reputation for academic excellence and an impressive record of achievement in music, sport and drama.

Our educational provision incorporates academic and vocational opportunities and as a College we endeavour at all times to meet the personal, social and spiritual needs of all our pupils. This is reflected in our school’s mission statement. “Fivemiletown College aims to educate, prepare and inspire all students to achieve their full potential as lifelong learners, thinkers and productive contributors to society. We provide a caring, supportive environment in which each student is encouraged and challenged to develop their strengths, interests and talents.”
Our curriculum offers at Key Stage 4 and 5 is tailored each year to meet the needs, interests and abilities of all pupils in the year group. Pupils entering Year 11 are given the opportunity to study up to 11 GCSE’s including English Literature, Further Maths and Statistics. To meet the needs of pupils who wish to follow a more vocational route, we offer occupational studies in conjunction with South West College, Omagh coupled with vocational subjects in school such as The Prince’s Trust and a variety of BTEC courses. Pupils in Key Stage 3 follow a broad and balanced curriculum. They study 14 different subjects ranging from the core subjects of English, Maths and Science to the creative and expressive in Music, Drama, Art and Physical Education. A whole range of subjects such as French, ICT, Technology and Design, History, Geography and RE are also followed in the Key Stage 3 timetable.
Fivemiletown College places learning at the heart of the community and we pride ourselves on the excellent relationships that exist amongst staff, pupils, parents, feeder primary schools and the wider community. At present we work in collaboration with St Ciaran’s College in Ballygawley and South West College, Omagh which enables us to provide a broader curriculum as we endeavour to meet the requirements of the Entitlement Framework.
We are very proud of our pupils’ examination success. All students study for GCSE and other accredited courses and many continue to study for A levels/equivalent and then progress to Universities and Colleges throughout the UK and Ireland.
Fivemiletown College has a carefully designed pastoral system made up of Form teachers, Year Heads and a Pastoral Leader. To compliment this, pupils are given the opportunity to avail of other supportive services such as mentoring, counselling and careers guidance. Our Student Council is a vibrant and vital part of school life, informing change and ensuring the pupil voice is heard.
There is an extensive range of extra-curricular activities on offer. The many sports clubs include rugby, football, netball, hockey, badminton, cricket, athletics and swimming.
